Less is More – Simplified Face Tattoos
Less is More – Simplified Face Tattoos
Removes some aspect of four of the facial tattoos, for when less is more.
While building characters, I found myself shying away from some choices for having too much going on, very disparate aesthetics in one set of tattoos, or being too darn specific for the kind of characters V can really be.
So, to teach myself texture replacement and increase the chance that I’ll ever use one, I simplified some of them.
Skulls and Roses Tattoo (#1)- I took out the web and the spider entire, all the arrows, the knife, and reduced the size of the diamond
Leatherneck Tattoo (#5) – It just had way too much going on to start with. I removed the “X punk” across the bridge of the nose, the dog tags, the NUSA logo, the gauge (although that part is great on its own), and all the barbed wire.
Sinner Tattoo (#7) – I just don’t like spiders OR tattoos smack in the middle of the face. So, I removed the spider. I also took out the word ‘lethal’ because I find the pills more interesting on their own. Finally, I traced over the neck tattoo to introduce a little “hand drawn” wobble, to make it look sliiiightly less like clipart.
Crisscross Tattoo (#8) – Honestly there’s a lot that needs to be fixed about this bad boy, but for now I just removed some of the scratches and lowered the opacity a little bit.
Turns out, Kala did something very similar, first! I’ve tried to provide distinct edits from those ones. For other great edits that increase the range of these tattoos, including some for V’s body, please go see Kala’s Edited Face Tattoos !
