No modding support at launch
In a thread on the CD PROJEKT RED forums, the company’s global community lead Marcin Momot stated that they “have no plans to share at the moment” regarding mod support for Cyberpunk 2077. Momot explained that the company is currently focused on getting the game to release, but “would love to support the modding community in the future.”
Modding hope for the future
While Momot’s statement did not commit the company to include mod support after launch, they do have a history of having done so with The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt on PC. Mod support was added to that game almost exactly three months after it was released and has proven to be wildly popular, including fixes, graphical improvements, ui changes, and game rebalance mods. It would be a surprise if CD PROJEKT RED passed up a chance at mods like this since they help extend the lifespan of the game and bring new design ideas to the team.
Check this site after launch for all the details about what kinds of mods people are able to do and when mod support might be coming.
